Animal Control Officer Certification Course

The 40-hour Animal Control Officer Certification Course is designed to provide basic instruction in areas of concern to personnel whose duties include capture, control, keeping, and disposing of domestic and wild animals. The course consists of instruction in legal procedures including cruelty prosecutions, animal and reptile behavior, veterinary considerations such as zoonosis, rabies, internal and external parasites, and domestic animal anatomy. The course also covers the use of restraint and capture equipment, report writing procedures, human, public and violator relations, and euthanasia considerations. In order to successfully complete this course you must pass an end-of-course exam with a score of at least 75%.
